More historic buildings are being bought up for redevelopment in Muskogee.

Two buildings across from Max’s Garage are about to be restored.

The new owners hope to work in retail and loft space once the buildings are open.

2 Works For You spoke with Phan and Jessica Nguyen, who just closed on the two buildings.
“We just really wanted to invest in Muskogee. This is where our little one is going to grow up at, he’s going to go to school here and we just want to make the town better someway, somehow,” said Phan Nguyen.

“We have a lot of work ahead of us, but we’re excited to get started,” said Jessica Nguyen.

On the street, the city is hoping to put main street on a ‘road diet’.

That means turning the street into two lanes, adding bike lanes and more parking.

The Nguyen family hopes to have tenants opening shops on the ground level by Spring 2018.
