Muskogee County escapee caught Monday

MUSKOGEE COUNTY, Okla. -- UPDATE: The inmate was captured Monday by Spiro police.

Police said a citizen contacted authorities after seeing the man walking through town. Mark Riffey is being transported to the LeFlore County Jail.

The Muskogee County Sheriff's Office is seeking information in regards to an escapee from the Jess Dunn Correctional Center.

Mark Riffey, 46, was last seen at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Old Taft Road and 134th Street North while cutting grass.

He was described as being 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 185 pounds. He has short brown hair, a goatee, hazel eyes and was last seen wearing gray pants, a gray shirt and brown work boots. 

Riffey is serving time for child abuse, kidnapping, rape, assault and battery on a police officer and domestic abuse. 

Sheriff Rob Frazier wants to remind anyone in the area to not pick up hitchhikers. 

The man also goes by the name of Mark Faulk. Officials said he has ties to Sequoyah County. 

Anyone who sees the man is asked to call 911. Riffey should be considered dangerous.
