STROUD, Okla. — A 39-year-old Stroud man accused of killing his parents was arrested on two counts of first-degree murder.

Shawn Pittman, 39, is accused of killing Pauletta Pittman, 63, and Mark Pittman, 65. The two were found dead in their Stroud home on Tuesday morning.

The investigation began when Pauletta Pittman did not show up for work on Tuesday morning, and a coworker contacted the police department to check on her.

After the Pittmans were discovered, officers noted that their mini-van was missing, and they could not contact the son, who lived with his parents. Shawn Pittman was found a few hours later in Stroud. He was initially taken into custody on accusations of DUI.

An investigation into the killings is ongoing.
