Multiple correctional facilities in Oklahoma on lockdown

UPDATE: According to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, Oklahoma’s statewide prison lockdown will continue this weekend and beyond.

Officials say all visitation remains canceled until further notice.

According to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, multiple correctional facilities are on lockdown due to inmate fights.

The following facilities have been put on lockdown, had inmates transferred due to fighting, and had additional staff called in to enhance security:

  • Northeast Oklahoma Correctional Center in Vinita
  • Dick Conner Correctional Center in Hominy
  • North Fork Correctional Center in Sayre
  • William S. Key Correctional Center in Fort Supply
  • Lawton Correctional Facility in Stringtown
  • Mack Alford Correctional Center in Stringtown

Multiple inmates have been transported to hospitals due to non-life threatening injuries, one confirmed inmate death at Dick Conner Correctional Center.
