Most effective flu vaccine in years

Posted at
and last updated
The flu vaccine is saving more Tulsans than last year.

Last year's vaccine was only 23% effective but, according to the CDC, this year's is 59% effective. This makes it the most effective vaccine on record.

When looking at the numbers, that becomes obvious.

In 2014 114 Oklahomans died during the flu season. About 23 of those people were in Tulsa county.
In 2015 only 3 Oklahomans were killed by the illness. One of which was in Tulsa county.
