More than 65,000 Oklahomans suffer from Alzheimer's disease. It is the sixth-leading cause of death in the U.S.

The progressive brain disorder affects more than five million Americans. In addition, 16 million people serve as caregivers across the country.

In recognition of Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month, the Alzheimer's Association asks that you wear purple in June.

The organization offers several support groups and other resources to help those affected by the disease.

Here's information on what's available and details on the upcoming walk in September.
