Today is the final day of the seventh annual Ruts 'n Guts off-road bike competition in Broken Arrow.

Both men and women athletes have been competing at the Chisolm Trail South Park.

This year's competition offers 32 cyclo-cross races for amateurs and pros.

It is the final of eight events in the U.S. that offer Category 1 races, sanctioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI).

The Broken Arrow Convention and Visitors Bureau, YWCA and the Tulsa Sports Commission have partnered up with Ruts 'n Guts to provide equal payouts for women athletes at this weekend's competition.

"Traditionally, women have always gotten paid less because they've had less participation," said Mike Guillen, the race director, "So for Ruts n' Guts it's been our mission from day one to pay women equally to help elevate the sport of women's cycling."
