MOFFETT, Okla. — The Moffett school district is working to reopen its school after record flooding caused serious damage.
Water is being drained from inside the gym of Moffett's school as flood recovery efforts continue.
Mud covers the floors of classrooms, while school supplies and books are soaked. School officials say they are not able to get a lot of things out of the building before floodwaters came.
"We got a lot of computers and Chromebooks out and moved them to higher ground. No one thought the water would get that high. We knew it was going to be bad, but not that bad," said Eddie Smith, Moffett School Administrative Assistant.
If the school is not ready by August, portable classrooms will be brought in to house the 370 students.
