TULSA, Okla. — The Oklahoma Mobile ID program is live, and anyone can sign up to put their identification on their phone. Here's how it works, and how it keeps your information safe.

Search for "Oklahoma Mobile ID" on the app store, and scroll until you see the "Oklahoma Mobile ID" app. Download it to your smart phone, and launch the app.

After going through the tutorial, You'll be taken to the introduction page, showing you the app will be free for a year, and then $4.49/year after November 1, 2020. Read through the terms and conditions and privacy policy, and then allow notifications.

Enter your phone number for the app to send you a verification text message. Follow the link in the text, and it should take you right back to the app after briefly jumping to a web page.

Next, allow camera access so you can scan your ID. You'll have to scan the front and rear of whatever identification you choose; just follow the instructions on screen.

Here's where it allows you and only you in the app. Bring your phone up to eye-level as if you're taking a selfie. The app scans your face, asking you to tilt it to bring an arrow to different points on the screen. It's scanning your face to match the picture on your ID.

After a brief check, the app will allow you in, and enable you to set up a pin and fingerprint scan. You can use any of these methods, including your face, to sign in to the app in the future.

You're done! Your ID will appear on the home page of the app, and when you're showing it anywhere you can hit "certify" at the bottom of the ID page for a decal that shows it's real.
