Dana Shelton thought McGlohn Jr. was the man of her dreams. Little did she know, he had outstanding warrants and a history of domestic violence.

"When I met him, he was the sweetest, most romantic guy I've ever been with."

Shelton says her relationship with McGlohn Jr. took a sharp turn when they moved to Arkansas.

"Everything was going fine, we were watching movies, we were laughing."

Last week, she says he blew up, jealous of her hanging out with his father.

"He took his hand and he stuck it in my mouth,” Shelton said. “Pulling my head up punching me, repeatedly punching me."

Shelton says he stopped, forcing her into the bedroom. Minutes later, she jumped out the window trying to escape.

"As soon as I heard my window slam, I heard it raise up again and he was outside on top of me covering my mouth and nose saying shut up, shut up, I'm going to kill you."

Screaming for her life, a neighbor finally intervened and McGlohn ran off.

"I was going to die if I didn't get help, I was going to die,” Shelton said. “He was going to kill me."

Wade McGlohn Jr. is a MMA fighter with a checkered past. He’s been incarcerated multiple times for assault and battery.

He was also a fugitive on the run, accused of beating up another woman in Craig County. He’s now in custody after Shelton’s assault.

While Dana Shelton recovers, she is fighting for harsher charges and justice for other victims.

"Men that abuse women, I wish they had to register just like sex offenders."

The problem is, Shelton could not have looked him up.

She didn't even know his real name when all of this happened. He had an alias, calling himself Wade McGregor.
