TULSA — Crews recently held a groundbreaking ceremony to widen Mingo Road between 71st Street and 81st Street.
Officials say, the $15 million project is expanding the two lane road into five lanes.
The five lanes will incorporate two lanes in each direction with a turn lane in the middle, officials say.
"That's certainly going to shorten backups and commute times and ensure first responders have the access they need to get into the neighborhoods and businesses," Tulsa City Councilor, Lori Decter Wright says.
Officials say, the widening project, paid for with Vision Tulsa funds, is expected to take about 13 months.
