MIDWEST CITY, Okla. - A Midwest City Police Major will be among 13 public safety officers who will be awarded the Medal of Valor.
Major David Huff will receive the honor for "uncommon poise in resolving a dangerous hostage situation."
Huff is credited with saving the life of a two-year-old girl who was held captive at knife point.
The moment was captured on surveillance video in 2013. The public officer safety Medal of Valor is the highest national award for valor presented to a public safety officer.
President Obama will present the medals on Monday.
