Midtown Apartment fire displaces dozens of residents

TULSA — Firefighters said around 60 people were displaced for a night after crews had to turn electricty off to put out flames Wednesday.

Investigators said flames started in a vacant unit at at the Leisure Manor Apartments near 15th and Sheridan.

Fire crews said no one was injured, but around 40 adults and 20 children were displaced because the electric had to be turned off. Firefighters said they turned off the power to keep crews safe as they worked. An electrician will look at the breaker before it is turned back on.

The Red Cross is helping those families impacted. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
