A memorial service was held Saturday for a Leach firefighter killed in a February crash.
Fire trucks from several area fire agencies lined the highway as they made their way into the service for Michael Russell.
Family, friends and fellow firefighters were just some of the people who filled the Leach school gym Saturday afternoon. They spoke highly of Russell, saying he was jack-of-all-trades, creative, passionate and helpful.
Russell's friend Joe Lester sang during the service.
"The turnout today will show you, in a little building like this that’s plum full in a little community like this, he won’t be forgotten,” said Lester.
Russell was killed in a crash while he was driving a tanker truck.
Russell leaves behind a wife and two children. He was 68.
