MCI Diagnostic Center Begins COVID-19 Testing Sunday

Posted
and last updated

Starting on Sunday, March 29th, MCI Diagnostic Center will be offering a drive-up COVID-19 test.

Testing will be available at 7018 S. Utica Avenue; testing hours are Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. - 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

The tests are considered private so MCI can lessen the burden on public health resources.

The MCI Diagnostic test kits are approved by the U.S. FDA and follow the same guidelines as the Center for Disease Control. All test results will be sent to the state department health officials per regulations set by the College of American Pathologist and Commission of Office Laboratory Accreditation.

The tests will cost $250 each; this covers the test kit, processing, shipping, an increase of staff, and the delivery of the private results.

Private health insurance can not be applied to the test fee at this time; no doctor's referral or pre-screening is required to obtain a test.

Results are emailed or texted to the individual usually within twenty-four to seventy-two hours.

Test recipients are instructed to do the following when onsite:

  • Pre-register at MCICOVID.com
  • Remain in the car at all times
  • Close all car windows
  • Turn off air conditioning and/or heat
  • Please have Order ID ready to present
