MCCURTAIN COUNTY, Okla. – Deputies are investigating after a retired pastor was beaten, then dragged behind a truck.
Neil Jackson, 74, was assaulted by Byron Duncan and Konner Mitchell over the weekend, according to police.
Family members say the assault left Jackson with a broken leg, cracked rib and bruising on his brain. Despite those injuries, though, his family also says he is continuing to show strength.
“Even right after it happened, he was praying with everyone on the scene. Before the EMT got there, he joined hands with everybody. That's just my Pawpaw."
Duncan and Mitchell are both being held without bond on aggravated assault and battery charges.
