Superintendent of McAlester Public Schools, Randy Hughes, announced that from Tuesday, January 5th to Friday, January 8th students and teachers will utilize Distance Learning for safety.
According to the statement, "As the number of COVID-19 cases being reported in the District continue to rise, it is unquestionably the safest educational environment for both our students and staff to begin the second semester utilizing Distance Learning."
This district is watching cases and number of quarantines in the district to determine when it is safe to return to in-person learning.
