McALESTER, Okla. (AP) -- The husband of the recently fired McAlester Public School superintendent has resigned his job with the district.
The McAlester News-Capital reported Sunday that Joseph "Skip" Gore and the school board reached an agreement in which Gore will resign and receive the remainder of his salary for the fiscal year, about $30,000.
The resignation comes about a week after the board fired Marsha Gore as superintendent following an investigation that found she violated district policy regarding credit card usage and personal spending.
School board attorney John Moyer said the finality of the agreement with Skip Gore was appealing for the board members.
