According to a statement released Friday evening from Mayor G.T. Bynum, plans to develop an Office of Independent Monitor were requested to be pulled from the agenda.
Bynum's administration has spent this year working with various groups to create a OIM that fits within the framework and legal systems present in Tulsa.
He is concerned that an OIM existing within the current legal framework would not earn trust in the community.
A city counselor tells us, "There will be an alternative plan brought to us in committee on September 25th."
There are also plans to meet with researchers who are publishing a report on Tulsa Police Department's Use of Force.
We will update this story as more information becomes available.
