TULSA — To some people across the world, today is just another Monday.
They woke up, got ready for work, ate some breakfast and might have checked on the daily coronavirus news.
But to others, today is no normal Monday. Today is a day that only occurs once a year.
A day that gives us Star Wars fans an excuse to dress up and watch all nine Star Wars films, in a row, if we want to. Or rather, if we have the time.
Today is Monday, May 4, 2020. Which isn't just a date, it is a celebration of what some would say is one of the best franchises on earth.
Today is "May the Fourth be with you."
A day when fans celebrate "Star Wars Day", the "unofficial holiday celebrating the Star Wars franchise," according to dictionary.com.
'May the Fourth be with you' is a pun on the Star Wars films' famous phrase, "May the Force be with you."
The Tulsa Historical Society and Museum posted on their Facebook page a few artifacts from their Star Wars collection.
The artifacts range from a black and white photo featuring Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill from Star Wars being interviewed by Betty Boyd. Also, it shows a 1992 Star Wars collector's plate, and from 1977, a photo and autographs from Star Wars' Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill. Tulsa Historical Society and Museum explains in the post that the black and white interview photo is from their Betty Boyd Collection, while the collector's plate and photo and autographs is from their Bill Blair Collection of Movie Memorabilia.
These one-of-a-kind artifacts can be seen at the Tulsa Historical Society and Museum, along with the rest of their amazing collections.
