MCALESTER, Okla. - Matthew Smith, 29, will be laid to rest in McAlester on Tuesday afternoon.
Smith is one of the five men killed in a gas well explosion in Quinton on January 22.
He leaves behind his wife, Julie, of eight years and his 16-month-old son, Rhett Matthew Smith.
Smith's loved ones said he enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, but his family was everything to him.
He attended Savanna High School in Savanna, Oklahoma, where some of his former classmates and football coach remember him as a nice guy.
The memorial service will be held at the McAlester Expo Center at 2 p.m.
The investigation into the cause of the rig fire continues by state and federal agencies.
