NORMAN — Authorities are expected to continue their search this morning for the man accused in the death of a 2-year-old out of Norman.
Police were called to a home in Norman earlier this week where they say the toddler wasn't breathing, and showed significant signs of abuse.
Officers tell us he was in the care of 38-year-old Christopher James Trent who was dating his mother.
Law enforcement began searching for Trent in the 60,000 acre Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge North of Lawton yesterday.
His vehicle was later found near the wildlife refuge in medicine park.
Kenny Stradley with the Comanche County Sheriff's Office says, "We're not for sure he's still here but we want to try to make sure for the citizens of this community, we want to try to make sure he's not in here."
The wildlife refuge is closed off while authorities continue searching for Trent.
While he is not on parole, but he is under the supervision of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.
