MANNFORD, Okla. -- A manhunt is underway for Joshua Caudell after police say he ran over a Mannford police officer Tuesday night.

Police say Officer Matt Waltman approached Caudell at a convenience store at the highway 48 and 51 intersection around 10:30pm.

Caudell got in his truck and took off southbound on highway 48, and sped to 61st street to an open field.

Police say his truck got stuck so Officer Waltman started to walk up to Caudell's truck alongside his K9.

You can see in the dash cam video from Mannford police that Caudell drove down the hill and ran over Officer Waltman's legs.

Officer Waltman was able to shoot the passenger side of the truck seven times, but Caudell continued to drive off.

Police say Caudell has prior charges through Creek County, and more charges are expected to be filed including felony eluding and assault on an officer with a deadly weapon.

Police don't know if he is armed, but urge the public to not approach him, just call police.

Officer Waltman is recovering at home and because police don't know if Caudell was shot, Officer Waltman is not on administrative leave.

He's at home recovering with a knee injury, and some bruises and cuts.
