BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – A man was arrested after allegedly biting his estranged wife’s arm during an attempt to kidnap her.
The incident began when several witnesses called police saying they noticed a physical altercation between a man and a woman. Broken Arrow police (BAPD) say they arrived to find James Ford and the victim, who said that Ford showed up to her home unannounced.
The victim went on to tell BAPD that Ford had been served a protection order last year but still showed up to her home and refused to leave. When she attempted to shut him out, Ford rushed the door and forced himself inside where the victim and her friend were located.
BAPD reports that Ford then grabbed a nearby bat and pushed the bat into the victim’s face. The friend of the victim tried to help her but Ford brought the bat to her throat then slapped her in the face.
Eventually the victim and her friend were able to find a way to run to her vehicle to try and drive off, but Ford followed them and jumped into the back seat of the car as they drove away, reports BAPD.
After the friend was dropped off, the victim ordered Ford to leave but he would not. The victim told police that Ford then stated “Take me to my daughter or I am going to [expletive] kill you.”
BAPD says not long after driving Ford then forced the vehicle to park and bit the victim on right arm. Two witnesses approached the pair and pulled Ford off of the victim until police were able to arrive.
Ford was arrested on complaint of first degree burglary, domestic assault and battery with dangerous weapon, destruction of private property, kidnapping, violation of protection order and interfering with a 911 call.
