Man shot in chest at south Tulsa apartment complex, police say

TULSA — Tulsa police said a man was shot in the chest at a south Tulsa Tulsa apartment complex early Thursday morning.

Police said they received calls at around midnight about shots fired at the Waterstone Apartments near 57th and Peoria.

Shortly thereafter, police said they got calls that a man with a gunshot wound at the St. Thomas Apartments in the 1000 block of East 61st Street.

Once on scene, police said they found a victim with a gunshot wound to his chest.

Police said the first two officers on scene applied a HALO seal to the victims chest wound before EMSA got to the scene.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, but was rushed into surgery and is now stable, police said.

Police said evidence processed at both scenes shows the victim was shot at the Waterstone Apartments and then made his way on foot to the St. Thomas Apartments, which is about a half-mile apart.

Officers said they've developed a possible suspect, but they have not been located.

A stolen vehicle was recovered as a result of the investigation, police said.
