TULSA – The man severely beaten in an altercation that took place near downtown has been identified.

Tulsa police Sgt. Walker said Brobeggar Willis, 34, has been upgraded to extremely critical condition after being struck several times with a metal like object in the head.

Witnesses gave accounts of the scene that took place at a convenience store just before 6 p.m. describing a person of interest that police were able to identify as 26-year-old William Cooper.

TPD says witnesses say Cooper arrived at the store where Willis was with two women. An argument began between Cooper and Willis before he allegedly beat the man with a metal object.

Cooper is now a person of interest in this incident. If you see him or have any information on his whereabouts, call Crime Stoppers at (918) 596-2677.
