TULSA -- A man is recovering in the hospital after a shooting overnight in midtown Tulsa.
Police responded to the initial call at about 12:40 a.m. Monday near 5100 E. 47th Place. Officers said they found a man there with one gunshot wound to his midsection.
The man reportedly told police he heard a voice, then someone fired three or four shots at him while he was walking with a woman in the street. Paramedics took the man to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury.
The victim told officers that he believes this is related to an incident that happened last week and that this may be a case of mistaken identity. Police are now looking into those claims.
Police said several stray bullets struck cars in the area, but luckily no one else was hurt.
Police said they have very little information about the suspected shooter right now.
