A man is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle in Midtown Tulsa.
Officers found the man laying in the street near 15th and South Sheridan Road around 10:45 Monday night.
Police said the man had injuries to to his head, trunk and legs.
The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene.
After interviewing the driver and a witness, officers learned the man was walking in the middle of the traffic lane, while wearing black or dark clothing.
There are no overhead street lights in the area, and police say they believe the driver never saw the pedestrian.
There were sidewalks on the stretch of roadway, so it is unknown why the man was walking in the street.
Officers say they smelled alcohol on the victim.
The driver wasn't ticketed.
