Man arrested after damaging police cars

Posted

TULSA - At least three police cars were damaged after a man crashed his vehicle through the gate of the Tulsa Police Department's Gilcrease Division parking lot.

The driver, Isiah Tiger, 19, was arrested on scene.

At approximately 1 a.m. Tuesday, police say, Tiger crashed through the gate and rammed his car into a Tulsa police SUV. He then broke out his own driver's side window and began walking around the lot.

Tiger got behind the wheel of a different police car and drove it around the lot before driving it into the rear-end of his own car. He put the police car in reverse and backed into another police cruiser.

While Tiger was damaging the last car, police officer Wes Johnson walked out of the building and saw what was happening.

He placed Tiger under arrest.

Captain Steve Odom’s SUV was one of the cars hit during the commotion. He says it's hard to tell what caused Tiger to do all of this.

“Sometimes it's hard to tell when someone's going through a mental health crisis, whether they're under the influence or it's just a straight case of someone being intoxicated,” said Capt. Steve Odom, Tulsa Police Dept.

Officers found a plastic bag containing marijuana in the passenger seat of Tiger's car.

Tiger was booked and charged with auto theft, damage to city property, leaving the scene of an accident and possession of marijuana.
