Man pistol-whipped during armed robbery

TULSA – A man is recovering from injuries sustained after being pistol-whipped in his own home Wednesday morning.

Tulsa police say around 4 a.m. they were called to the block of 7600 E. 49th to investigate a reported armed robbery.

When they arrived, a victim stated that the suspects knocked on his apartment door and barged in, demanding money. One of the suspects even brandished a gun and stuck it against the victim’s head.

The victim was pistol-whipped by one of the suspects as his cellphone and bank card were stolen. Police say the suspects attempted to steal the television, but dropped it halfway out of the door.

Police were able to recover the victim’s iPhone.

Authorities are searching for three suspects described as black males between the ages of 18 and 21. Police say one of the suspects was wearing a shirt over his face as a mask. The victim told police that he believed he knew one of the suspects.

The victim sustained injuries to both knees, the top of his head and his left eye during the robbery.
