TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Police in Tulsa are investigating an early morning shooting as a possible "stand your ground" case.

Sergeant Dave Walker says someone called police just before 2 a.m. Sunday after hearing a woman yelling about her husband being shot. The wounded man was reportedly in critical condition, but police believe he will recover.

Tulsa police say paramedics found the man lying in a yard in north Tulsa, and he was taken to a nearby hospital. Investigators say the shooting took place at a home just a block away.

Police tracked down a suspect who claims he shot the victim after he walked into his home. But police say they have received conflicting information and are trying to figure out exactly what happened.
