A man died Monday after being bitten by a rattlesnake.
Game Warden Carlos Gomez said he was called out to St. John Hospital for a rattlesnake in a toolbox in the back of a pickup.
Gomez said the 58-year-old man's nephew told him that his uncle was bitten twice by a 36" timber rattlesnake while trying to catch the snake with a stick found by the road.
The victim asked his family to drive him to the hospital, where he later died.
The snake was released to a snake wrangler.
