BROKEN ARROW, Okla. -- Broken Arrow police arrested a 37-year-old man Wednesday morning after they said he assaulted a woman and held her against her will.

Police were dispatched to a home in the 3500 block of West Freeport Street at about 6:40 a.m. on Wednesday.

Officers surrounded the home and the woman was allowed to leave the home. Officers entered the home and brought the man, identified as Travis Bayless, 37, out of the home.

Police said Bayless resisted arrest.

The victim in the incident said Bayless zapped her with a stun gun and hit her in the head with the blunt end of a large knife. She said she was afraid Bayless would kill her.

Bayless was arrested on a count of kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, obstruction of justice and resisting arrest.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
