Man leads police on slow-speed chase

Posted

TULSA – A man is in jail after eluding police officers, yet still adhering to traffic laws.

Wednesday night a man led police on a pursuit that started at 11th Street and ended near apartments at 8th and Birmingham.

Police say they were attempting to pull over a car that was reported stolen when the driver continued to drive, but not speed.

“At one point, we actually tried to get out and make contact with him at a stoplight, but the light turned green and he continued to proceed business as usual in traffic,” said Sgt. Jeff Edwards, TPD.

Officers arrested 42-year-old Victor Alvarado for possession of a stolen vehicle.

Alvarado told them he didn't stop because he didn't understand why they were trying to pull him over.
