CLEVELAND, Okla. – Authorities arrested a man in possession of 53.7 grams of methamphetamine after a short pursuit.

Cleveland Police Chief Clint Stout said a reserve officer tried to stop Travis James Lawrence for a traffic violation, but Lawrence took off. Another officer became involved, and they finally caught Lawrence at his brother's house. Police say they found the drugs after they say he tried hiding them under his car.

Lawrence now faces multiple charges, including drug trafficking, reckless driving, attempting to elude an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lawrence is now in the Pawnee County jail.
