OWASSO, Okla. -- Police arrested a man after he led officers on a high-speed chase and shot at them through his back window.
Owasso police said an officer tried to pull over Kyle Linscomb, 26, at 1:25 a.m. Monday on E. 116th Street North near U.S. 169.
Linscomb, however, took off and accelerated to more than 100 miles per hour.
As officers chased the truck, they said Linscomb fired a handgun multiple times out the back window, though no officers were hit.
The chase went into Claremore, where Linscomb allegedly shot at Claremore officers who joined in the pursuit.
Rogers County sheriff's deputies and state troopers eventually joined the chase as well, but Linscomb's truck stalled on some railroad tracks in Claremore. Police said he got out of his truck and ran into a wooded area.
Police deployed K9s and used the Tulsa Police Department's helicopter to locate Linscomb after about 45 minutes of searching.
"It could have been a whole lot worse when you've got a suspect firing a gun at officers," Owasso Deputy Police Chief Jason Woodruff said. "It could have ended badly for both him and the officers. Luckily, in this case, we ended up with no serious injuries, and we're definitely thankful for that."
Police said they are unsure why Linscomb ran from officers during the initial traffic stop.
They're also checking out their police vehicles to see if they received any damage, but right now it appears there is none.
