TULSA — The newest winner of NBC's "The Voice" sits down with Travis Guillory to talk about her experience, what's next and her Oklahoma ties.
Maelyn Jarmon beat out some 63,000 singers in the most recent season, winning the singing competition in May.
She has several ties to Oklahoma, where she was actually born. Her grandparents live in Tulsa, and the singer has family in Norman, OK.
She made a stop in Tulsa and performed at Lefty's on Greenwood with her boyfriend, who is also a musician.
Jarmon will be opening for OneRepublic and The Fray and has been performing for charity events. Her biggest goal right now, though, is to make music and get it released. She has been signed by Republic Records, the same label that carries artists like Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Stevie Wonder.
The singer said she's still in touch with John Legend, her coach on the show, and she hopes to continue recording and eventually go on tour.
