TULSA — After a temporary closure this Spring, things are back to normal at Tulsa's River Spirit Casino Resort.

Longtime employee Betty Watson has worked there for more than three decades and has seen the place evolve over the years.

"It seem like it was just yesterday we were playing bingo," Watson said.

Watson says what you see today started out as a dream, which later came true.

"Next thing you know they had these other different machines coming in and i just think about it now. I think about how we had bingo to this," Watson said.

After seeing the recovery from flooding in the 1980s and again this Spring, she says she is proud of where she works.

"The money we make here goes to our education, tribes education, the elderly, housing, school clothing. you name it, each one gets a bit of this money here," Watson said.

Watson says she gets emotional when talking about everything River Spirit Casino Resort has done for her and others in the community.

"My mom she was elderly when she was alive and she had a lot of help through creek nation. If it weren't for them i don;t know she was on dialysis and they helped her with that." Watson said.

"It makes me so proud to be working here."
