Locals ditch the kitchen on Thanksgiving

Don't want to spend hours slaving over a hot stove? Many people are ditching the kitchen and heading out to eat on Thanksgiving.

Spots like Osage Casino, Hard Rock, and River Spirit are all offering Thanksgiving meals. Other chains including Cracker Barrel and Waffle House open their doors on the holiday to serve families a hot meal.

We caught up with River Spirit to talk about the upward trend of putting the table settings in the closet, and going out to eat on Thanksgiving.

"It takes a lot of work to cook so why not leave that at home, come out, eat, have fun, you don't have to worry about cleaning up the mess. It's a good thing," said Tony Perez, Executive Chef at River Spirit.

Some local restaurants are also getting involved. Tally's Cafe is offering their free annual Thanksgiving meals between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving day.
