JENKS, Okla. — NorthStar Church opened a warming shelter for those who need it during the chilling cold temperatures across Green Country.
The church set up beds, food, and other essentials at its warehouse in Jenks, Okla.
A church spokesperson told 2 Works for You they've had around 22 people come in and out of the shelter since they opened it on Thursday, Feb. 11.
"We just knew about the cold weather coming and we strongly felt in our heart that we had to not only talk about it but do something about it," Joshua Freeman of NorthStar Church said. "Let's figure out how we can open our doors to allow people to come in off the streets."
The church plans to leave its warming shelter open as long as the cold sticks around. You can find the shelter at 528 W. G Street in Jenks.
