OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma chapter for a Muslim civil rights group is holding its second Muslim Day rally Friday.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations is gathering at the state Capitol to hold the event. The rally is scheduled on the same day two GOP candidates plan to make campaign stops.

Donald Trump is one of the candidates planning to stop in Oklahoma City the same day as the rally. In the past, Trump has called for a “total” ban on Muslims.

“Basically a lot of it is based on a lot of ignorance. On a lot of hype, unfair policies that stem from government that are feeding this narrative.”

There will be extra security following online threats and calls to protest the rally.
