SAND SPRINGS, Okla. — A bright new addition in Sand Springs is helping kids in the community read.
The newest Little Red Library is now up and running at Case Community Park.
You can take a book to read or help add to the collection by donating some.
There are now five of these libraries around town, including four in the park and one in the Garfield Elementary neighborhood.
"Having two children of my own, I think I can say their very eager to get out and intermingle in the community or do things like this where you're at a park or outside, and you're able to social distance, and you're able to grab a book and sit down with your parents, or sit down with your friends and read," said Melissa Torkleson, vice president of the Sand Springs Women's Chamber.
The Sand Springs Women's Chamber said these libraries were set to be unveiled last May. But because of historic flooding last year, they were put on hold in order to let the Parks and Recreation Department work on the flooding areas.
