Posted

EUFAULA, Okla. – The 911 emergency calls, as well as dispatch tapes, regarding the deadly Eufaula bank robbery have been released by the Eufaula Police Department.

The 911 calls reveal the frantic moments of those inside the bank when Cedric Norris entered around 9:31 a.m. and left one minute later. In just that short amount of time, Norris shot and killed bank president Randy Peterson and injured bank teller Betty Howell, while also taking Julie Huff hostage.

"He literally drug her out the door. He was dragging her out by her shoulder and her blouse out the door," said Chief Don Murray, Eufaula Police Dept.

Law enforcement also released tapes from troopers and police giving a more detailed picture of what happened when Norris was being pursued by authorities.

Schools were placed on lockdown and law enforcement worked together as the chase ensued. At first, Huff was mistaken for a suspect and Norris mistaken for a woman because he was dressed in feminine clothing.

Huff was forced to drive the vehicle, described as a white SUV, and eventually led it down a road with a dead end.

“Some of us believe that Miss Huff knew that road was a dead end. And she was trying to do what she could to save herself," said Chief Don Murray, Eufaula Police Dept.

Eight minutes after leaving the bank - OHP forced the white SUV off the road and the high-speed chase ended.
