TULSA — A ceremony commemorating the Declaration of Independence took place in Tulsa on Thursday.
The Star Spangled Banner was just one of the many patriotic songs featured during the annual "Let Freedom Ring" event on the University of Tulsa's campus.
The City of Tulsa's Pipes and Drums Corps provided bagpipe music.
An organizer says today's event also showed a slice of history.
"This is an opportunity for Tulsans to just come out and see people dressed in period outifts from the Colonial era, from the Revolutionary period, and get an idea of what it was like," said Ron Painter, Honory State President.
The event is now in its 56th year.
