Cotton candy, face painting, pie in the face, all these things can be seen at the state fair, but for one reason or another some senior citizens won't be able to attend.
Thanks to several groups working together, residents from a retirement home will have the chance to make up for the fun they'd miss at this years fair.
A employee with Legend Assisted Care, Wendy Dotson, says this event was created to enrich the lifestyle of the residents.
They wanted to do something big for the residents before the state fair this weekend.
Dotson says this gave the seniors a chance to experience a small scale fair in the comfort of their own homes.
Dotson tells us, “I wear my heart on my sleeve and when I see the residents and families coming together and laughing and having a good time with a smile and just enjoying each others companies. Intertwined with the staff we have here, that right there does it all.”
Legend Assisted Care Retirement Home along with other organizations like Rose Rock Healthcare made this event possible.
