Lawsuit filed against Tulsa City Councilor Blake Ewing alleging fraud

Posted

TULSA – A lawsuit was filed against one of Tulsa’s city councilors this week alleging fraudulent activity.

Official documents show that City Councilor Blake Ewing was slapped with a lawsuit this week seeking more than $10,000.

The lawsuit isn’t the first sign of trouble Ewing has dealt with this year. In July, the Oklahoma Tax Commission shut down Blake Ewing's business over unpaid sales tax allegations. http://www.kjrh.com/news/local-news/state-shuts-down-tulsa-city-council-members-business-over-unpaid-sales-tax-allegations

The Phoenix Cafe in the Pearl District was closed for non-payment of sales taxes. It reopened a short time later, according to state officials.

Later in July, it came to light that three businesses Ewing is a co-owner, The Max Retropub, The Fur Shop and the Blue Ox Dance Hall, allegedly owe around $80,000 in state tax funds spanning from the past two years.

Over $16,000 in penalties are owed all together from the bars alone.
