A 52-year-man was arrested for drug-related charges after fleeing the scene of an infant death, according to Tulsa police.

Police say Kevin Crawford was arrested with methamphetamine and several needles around 3 a.m. near 11th and Rockford Monday.

Police say the child's mother left her infant son in the care of Crawford when medical personnel were called to a shed behind her parents' home on Saturday because the child was suffering from cardiac arrest.

Investigators say the pair were living in the shed despite the presence of chemicals, trash and filth. The baby's crib was also found in the shed.

The mother told police the baby was unresponsive when she returned home from running errands.
