TULSA, Okla. — 2 Cares for the Community, that’s why we’re launching a new initiative we’re calling “Just Us.”
We’ve teamed up with internationally recognized diversity expert Risha Grant to start a conversation about diversity and to create change.
"JustUs is a concept I came up with because I feel like there are so many inequities, not just in Tulsa and in the Tulsa community but in the world," Grant said.
Race, unconscious bias, inequalities and civil discourse -- topics we face every day in our divided society.
Author, speaker and consultant Risha Grant has made tackling these issues her life's work.
She travels the world educating and motivating audiences, breaking down barriers and bringing people together.
"JustUs is a way to deal with current issues, provide clarity, thoughtful perspective and sometimes solutions to the things that are going on in our world," Grant said.
So we're going out into the community and listening to real people facing real issues. Difficult issues that become easier when we stand together.
“I think we need to put aside any bias or preconceived notions that we have and really open up and listen to how people are feeling and how they're living and what they're having to deal with,” Grant said. “And then ask ourselves, ‘would I be OK with that? If its ok for them, would it be OK for me?’ And in a lot of those instances, people are gonna say no. So then let’s fix it."
