TULSA – The defense attorney for the former Tulsa police officer, Shannon Kepler, accused of fatally shooting a teenager in 2014.

Jury selection for the case involving the fatal shooting of Jeremey Lake started this week.

Kepler's attorney Richard O'Carroll held up the proceedings Tuesday morning because of questions about some of his staff members and what he described as an inability to present a list of character witnesses. O'Carroll reportedly requested that the judge dismiss nine potential jurors based on the answers they gave to questions regarding Kepler’s guilt.

District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler and the defense singled out some of the 60 potential jurors based on their answers on their questionnaires.

So far only juror was dismissed yesterday because of a medical issue. Attorneys say it may take a couple of days to seat the jury.
