Jury finds man guilty of arson, animal cruelty

WAGONER CO.--A jury convicts a man of a 2014 house fire and killings of two dogs and horse. 

District 27 District Attorney Jack Thorp says that 43-year-old Charles Smith was found guilty of the crimes of First Degree Arson and three separate counts of Cruelty to Animals. The crimes happened on May 20, 2014 in Porter, Okla. 

DA Thorp says that Smith intentionally set a house on fire. Oklahoma State Fire Marshal conducted the investigation. The house as well as the contents were a total loss. 

District 27 is comprised of Adair, Cherokee, Sequoyah and Wagoner counties.
